Viewing the World from the Inside Out: Computed Tomography

ORAL

Abstract

Computed tomography (CT) has a variety of important applications extending from industry to the biological realm. A CT scanner requires a source of radiation, a detector, motion control, and software that coordinates the entire apparatus. Construction of a simple, low-cost CT scanner with low radiation emission is in progress, with the most notable advances taking place in motion control.
