Propagating Literacy through Science Outreach

Tyler Junior College's Society of Physics Student Chapter has worked with local elementary school teachers to develop an educational outreach program for science students. Since April 2006, we have lectured on and demonstrated captivating chemistry and physics phenomena. Our goal is to inspire the next generation of scientists by stimulating not only their minds but also their hearts. This presentation will cover the importance of science and technological literacy, our chapter's educational outreach program, and how other SPS chapters can create their own.
