Classical and quantum phase diagram of magnetic pyrochlores

Abstract

During the last three decades pyrochlore magnets have demonstrated to be an excellent platform for the theoretical and experimental study of numerous exotic many-body phenomena. In the last few years, important developments in the understanding of the classical and quantum phase diagram of these systems for the most general nearest neighbour bilinear model have demonstrated how a variety of conventional and non-conventional magnetic phases can be realized. In this talk, I will provide an overview of the different magnetic phases studied in these systems, discuss how spin liquids and nematic phases are stabilized at phase boundaries between various conventional long-range ordered phases, and provide a framework to describe the low-temperature physics observed in these non-conventional magnetic phases.
