Bifurcations of an Electronic Delayed Relay System

Abstract

Delay dynamical equations (DDEs) with relay feedback arise in many nonlinear natural processes as well as in control systems engineering. In contrast to regular DDEs, it is possible to calculate analytic solutions of relayed DDEs since they can be reduced to finite-dimensional maps. A simple generic model of such, a linear second-order time-delayed relay system, has been analytically studied. In this project, we primarily focus on experimentally verifying the results in the underdamped regime.
