Chaos and Amplitude Death: Exploring nonlinear dynamics with delay oscillators
Oral
Abstract
Even simple systems with delayed feedback can exhibit remarkably rich and complex dynamics. The investigation of such dynamics is often aided by flexible well-controlled tabletop experimental systems. In this talk, I will describe experiments based on electronic and optoelectronic oscillators that exhibit interesting emergent dynamics, including nonperiodic oscillations, coexisting dynamical states, as well as synchronization and amplitude death induced by coupling oscillators.
