Oscillon formation from collapsing bubble induced phase transitions

POSTER

Abstract

Oscillons have been shown to form in degenerate double well potentials from the collapse of bubbles of one type of vacuum embedded in a sea of the other. In this work we look at asymmetric potentials, finding a region of parameter space that supports infinitely long lived oscillons. This regions relationship to critical resonances is studied. The formation of oscillons in scenarios where the bubble successfully initiates a phase transition is also examined.
