The James Webb Space Telescope: An Engineering Marvel Breaking Cosmic Frontiers

ORAL  · Invited

Abstract

JWST is the largest, most sophisticated space telescope ever built; its successful launch in 2021 marked the end of decades of development and beginning of a new era of infrared astronomy. In this presentation we will explore JWST's engineering marvels and discover how its golden eye has changed our view of the universe and opened new avenues of scientific exploration. From the very first galaxies to our own solar system backyard, Webb not only has delivered its promise of revolutionizing astronomy, but given us some new mysteries to solve.
