Probing p - wave superconductivity in UTe<sub>2</sub> via point-contact junctions

Abstract
The evidence for odd-parity, spin-triplet superconductivity in uranium ditelluride (UTe2) has been observed in several experimental studies, yet the exact nature and symmetry of its superconductivity has remained elusive. Here, we perform a spectroscopic study of the ambient pressure superconducting phase of UTe2, measuring conductance through point-contact junctions formed by metallic contacts on different crystalline facets down to 250 mK and up to 18 T. We utilize Raman spectroscopy to study surface oxidation for different contact methods and identify a ballistic regime where differential conductance measurements can reliably probe the energy density of states. Comparing fits of conductance spectra with a Blonder-Tinkham-Klapwijk model for p-wave pairing, we will discuss implications for the pairing symmetry of UTe2.
