Anomalous Josephson effect in superconducting multilayers
ORAL
Abstract
We investigate the Josephson current-phase relation in a planar diffuse tunnelling superconducting multilayer junction in the parallel magnetic field. We compute the supercurrent for a fixed jump of the phase of the order parameter at each of the two insulating interfaces.
This allows us to find the current-phase relation of the junction.
The perturbation theory in junction conductance allows us to determine the first and second harmonics of the current-phase relation at a given magnetic field.
Strong spin-orbit interaction in S'-region makes the Josephson effect anomalous.
Specifically, the combination of the spin-orbit and Zeeman interactions give rise to an effective vector potential.
This causes each harmonic of the current-phase relation to shift without changing the overall shape of the current-phase relation.
