Strongly coupled cavity magnonics with hybrid superconductor-ferromagnet resonators

Abstract
The coupling between spin excitations (magnons) in ferromagnetic materials and microwave cavity photons leads to the formation of magnon-polaritons and furnishes a highly tunable platform to study light-matter interactions in magnetically ordered systems. To realize such a cavity magnonic system, we study a planar superconducting resonator directly coupled to a metallic ferromagnet, which enables multiple coupling channels between the two sub-systems. In this talk, we will demonstrate that these devices exhibit extremely strong magnon-photon couplings leading to a variety of novel phenomena, and discuss the roles of dissipation, interfacial spin-orbit coupling, and proximity effects in this system.
