Amorphous chiral semimetals
ORAL
Abstract
Chiral semimetals are known to host multifold fermions, low energy quasiparticles emerging from a generalized Weyl equation with a higher spin [1]. While conventional Weyl fermions result from breaking time-reversal or inversion symmetry, these multifold fermions require crystlline symmetries for their topological protection. Using tight-binding approach, we study the effect of structural disorder on the topological phase in an amorphous CoSi system.
