Imaging chiral optoelectronic based on STM-CD

ORAL

Abstract

The high performance chiral response of helicene molecule has been previously developed and covered in the visible spectrum. However, there is currently a lack of clear experimental maps that correlate local electronic structures with chiral properties in such structures. Here, we combine scanning tunneling microscope (STM) and circular dichroism (CD) to detect the electronic orbit and optical properties of B, N-Embedded Double Hetero [7] helicines. Our research has provided a strong foundation for understanding the chiral molecular orbital resulting from the selective absorption of light in the helicene molecule. We have developed an appealing method for imaging chiral optical materials in other systems.
