LaNiGa2
ORAL
Abstract
LaNiGa2 is a layered centrosymmetric superconductor with an exceptionally low-symmetry crystal structure. Spontaneous magnetic fields have been observed at the onset of the superconducting state implying the breaking of time-reversal symmetry. This observation suggests the possibility of triplet pairing in the superconducting state. Many experiments have characterized the properties of this unconventional superconductor in its normal state, but few have been performed in the superconducting state. The recent synthesis of high quality large single crystals of LaNiGa2 allowed us to perform NMR on 139La and 69Ga and characterize the electric field gradient. We report the temperature dependence of the spectra and relaxation rates down to Tc.
