Transitions between symmetry-protected topological phases from pivoting

ORAL

Abstract

We introduce a novel mechanism, ‘pivoting’, which aids in the construction of Hamiltonians realizing symmetry-protected topological (SPT) phases in general dimensions. Moreover, this approach elucidates discrete and continuous duality symmetries that can emerge at SPT transitions. We support our findings with numerical investigations.
