Branching time and Many-body Chaos

ORAL

Abstract

Branching time is defined in terms of the retarded kernel to quantify the stringy effects in SYK-like models. In this work, after presenting a weighting trick to calculate the branching time, we prove a bound on the branching time for a large class of systems. We also derive a relation between the branching time, the Lyapunov exponent and the quasiparticle lifetime for weakly coupling models.
