Chiral vector field-induced collective fermionic excitations in Weyl semimetals

ORAL

Abstract

We study the single-particle fermionic spectrum of Weyl semimetals in three dimensions taking into account the axial vector character of the electron-phonon interaction. We find that, together the expected standard quasi-particle peak, a second peak appears in the spectral function. The main features of this new fermionic excitation are to be intrinsically anisotropic and gapped. We will discuss also the potential impact of these collective fermionic modes on the transport phenomena in Weyl semimetals.
