Spin torques between ferromagnetic and compensated antiferromagnetic layers

ORAL

Abstract

The current induced torques between a ferromagnetic layer and a compensated antiferromagnetic layer of various symmetries are considered. The general conditions under which these current induced torques can stabilize the out-of-plane configuration of the ferromagnet are provided, along with numerical results for specific models. The effects of phase breaking scattering and their experimental implications are also discussed.
