Progress towards a dense atomic beam

POSTER

Abstract

We are constructing a dense atomic beam source of Rb atoms that operates from 300 K to 600 K. We have designed the apparatus to access the high density region in the beam immediately after exiting the oven. Initial heating tests in vacuum confirmed that we will able to access the desired temperature range. We will add atomic Rb to the oven and measure its density as a function of temperature using spectroscopy.
