Packing fraction of dimers and anisotropic objects

ORAL

Abstract

We present a statistical theory and computer simulations for the calculation of the average volume in jammed assemblies of dimer shaped objects and other anisotropic particles like spherocylinders. The theory predicts the volume fraction as a function of the coordination number of the particles.
