Band structure trend in cuprates and correlation with T$c\ max$

Abstract

Parameters in model Hamiltonians are derived from LDA band structures for cuprate high T$_c$ superconductors. The materials and structural dependences of these are discussed. The most essential material dependent parameter is the range of the intralayer hopping. Furthermore, the range of this hopping correlates with T$_c$, i.e. materials with larger hopping ranges have higher maximum T$_c$'s.
