Microscopic calculation of the Gilbert damping in a spin-polarized two-dimensional electron liquid with Rashba spin-orbit interaction

Abstract
We present a microscopic calculation, based on mode-coupling theory, of (i) the Gilbert damping constants for in-plane and out-of-plane relaxation and (ii)the magnetic anisotropy tensor of the spin-polarized two-dimensional electron liquid in the presence of a spin-orbit interaction of the Rashba form.
