$^{17}$O and $^{139}$La NMR in a single crystal La$_{2-x}$Ba$_{x}$CuO$_{4}$, $x=1/8$

ORAL

Abstract

We have performed $^{17}$O and $^{139}$La nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) in a single crystal of La$_{2-x}$Ba$_{x}$CuO$_ {4}$ with $x=1/8$, in order to investigate how the static spin and charge structures, as revealed by neutron scattering, influence the NMR spectrum. We measured the NMR intensity of the $^{17}$O and $^{139}$La nuclei, as well as the $^{17}$O nuclear quadrupole resonance frequency ($\nu_{Q}$) at several different temperatures. We will discuss possible correlation between the $^{17}$O signal intensity and $\nu_{Q}$ as a function of temperature due to the stripe phase.
