Acquiring First Data with LEGEND-200

Abstract
The Large Enriched Germanium Experiment for Neutrinoless double-beta Decay (LEGEND) is searching for neutrinoless double-beta decay (0νββ) using high purity 76Ge detectors. With 101 detectors (142 kg) installed, LEGEND-200 is operating and has been taking low-background data since early 2023. LEGEND-200 aims for a discovery sensitivity at a half life of 1027 years and represents an increase in 76Ge material by a factor of ∼6 with respect to the previous generation of Ge experiments. The performance of LEGEND-200 is critical for the design and development of the subsequent tonne-scale phase, LEGEND-1000. The installation, commissioning and initial operation of the LEGEND-200 array will be the primary focus of this talk. Details about the experimental setup and the data acquired up to this point will be discussed as well.
