DBD plasma sulfonation of carbon materials in optimization of the material catalytic performance
ORAL
Abstract
An efficient discharge system capable of producing catalysts with high catalytic performance using a diluted sulfuric acid solution was explored. The objective was to maximize the contact area between the plasma and the liquid, facilitating the efficient generation of radicals near the interface. Previous investigations revealed the challenge of sulfonating carbon materials through surface discharge systems. Consequently, this study explored the sulfonation of carbon materials using a dielectric barrier discharge plasma system with wet carbon, which proved to be effective and the results are promising. These findings offer promising prospects for achieving sulfonation of carbon materials via plasma systems.
