3D Imaging of Quarks and Gluons in the Nucleons and Nuclei
ORAL โยทโInvited
Abstract
In this talk, I will explore the three-dimensional imaging of quarks and gluons within nucleons and nuclei in the Jefferson Lab (JLab) and the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC). I will introduce the state-of-the-art 3D tomography programs that enhance our understanding of the internal structure of hadrons. The discussion will focus on the cross section measurement of Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering off the proton with the CLAS12 detector using a liquid hydrogen target and a 10.6 GeV CEBAF electron beam in Hall B, JLab. The discussion will extend to a recently proposed gluon distribution study in Hall B, involving the coherent ๐ฝ/๐ electroproduction off a He-4 target and the ALERT recoil detector. These experiments will also be key measurements at EIC for future quark and gluon distribution studies.
