Particle identification performance at GlueX

ORAL

Abstract

Good particle identification (PID) is crucial to achieving the physics goals of the GlueX experiment at Hall D of Jefferson Lab. Using data from the experiment's successful engineering and early production runs, data-driven studies have been performed of the hadronic PID performance (e.g. $\pi/p$ and $\pi/K$) of the GlueX detector using "standard candles" such as $\Lambda^0$, $K^0_S$ and $\phi$ decays. The results of such studies will be presented.
