Omniband Quantum Rydberg Sensing

ORAL

Abstract

Rydberg atoms are a unique type of quantum sensor that leverages their many atomic resonances to perform wideband electric field sensing spanning from DC to THz. We exploit this multitude of resonances and demonstrate a thermal Rydberg atom sensor which can simultaneously sense both the amplitude and phase of five RF fields at 1.7, 12, 27, 65, and 116 GHz. The capability to simultaneously measure signals spread across nearly a decade of the electromagnetic spectrum with a single device marks an important milestone for Rydberg sensors.
