Entanglement-Assisted Benchmark on a trapped-ion quantum computer
POSTER
Abstract
Benchmarking allows us to characterize noises in quantum systems. For example, Pauli channel estimation provides important information on Pauli noise during quantum processes. However, quantum process characterization is usually costly. Entanglement-Assisted Benchmark (EAB) protocol utilizes entanglement to achieve much favorable scaling. We implemented this protocol on our 171Yb+ trapped-ion quantum computer. We learned about the dominant incoherent errors in our native entangling gate and explored methods for mitigating noises that are affecting the performance of EAB.
