Spin dynamics in a complex magnetic field

ORAL

Abstract

Non-Hermitian Hamiltonians are often used as an approximation to describe open quantum systems. In this talk, I will discuss a scenario where a non-Hermitian Hamiltonian is valid at any time. The non-unitary quantum evolution is then characterized by a spin in a complex magnetic field. Such spin dynamics make it possible for experimentalists to extract the quantum metric in dissipative systems.
