Saturated absorption spectroscopy of Ho atoms for laser cooling experiments

POSTER

Abstract

We present spectroscopy measurements of the 410.5 nm cooling transition in Ho using a source based on a frequency doubled diode laser. The laser is locked to the Ho $F=11 - F'=12$ transition between resolved hyperfine states using saturated absorption spectroscopy in a hollow cathode cell. Progress towards using the 410.5 nm source for laser cooling and trapping of Ho atoms generated in an effusion cell will be presented.
