Differential manifolds applied to theoretical mechanics

ORAL

Abstract

The study and development in areas like topology and differential geometry brought a practical physics approach based on differentiable manifolds; with this formalism, different physics areas were reformulated, such as theoretical mechanics, thermodynamics, general relativity, and others. The present work is a review of the use of differential manifolds in the study of theoretical mechanics.
